Moreno’s Feed & Pet Store has been a trusted part of the Rio Grande Valley since 1979.
We’re proud to offer quality feed, premium pet foods, and a wide variety of pets - from parakeets and bunnies to Valley-raised puppies and baby chicks. Family owned and customer-focused, our mission has always been simple: provide great products at fair prices with service you can count on.
Our Story
Moreno’s Feed & Pet Store first opened its doors in Donna, Texas on June 9, 1979, founded by U.S. Air Force veteran Gus Moreno Jr. Raised on a farm, Gus dreamed of building a business rooted in his love for animals and agriculture. Together with his wife Pat and their six children, he created a store dedicated to serving the Mid Valley with quality products and genuine service.
With strong community support, Moreno’s grew quickly. On January 1, 1982, the family opened a second location in Weslaco, where Gus’s son, Leroy Moreno, proudly carries on the tradition. Thanks to loyal customers, the Weslaco store thrived, and in 2004 it expanded into a larger location to better serve the Valley.

Today, Moreno’s Feed & Pet Store is more than just a feed store—it’s a destination for pet lovers. From premium foods and supplies to birds, small animals, Valley-grown puppies, and even baby chicks, we’ve stayed true to our roots while evolving with the needs of our customers.
For over four decades, the Moreno family has lived by Gus’s favorite saying:
